From Dad:
What a beautiful day for riding. It totally made up for yesterday. Started out with temperature at 49 degrees. It was probably in the low 60’s when I finished. I had a tailwind of about 15 mph much of the morning, so I was doing 20+ a good chunk of the time. There were a few hills, but nothing very difficult and usually quite short.
When I turned south on Highway 123, the tail wind became a side wind for the final 11 miles. We got to Trout Lake at 12:25 and my legs were pretty dead, so I didn’t try to go beyond that goal for the day. I covered 43.3 miles in 3:35.
Afterward we took a trip to Tahquamenon Falls (rhymes with phenomenon). Some people call them root beer falls because the water contains tannin from various trees in the area which turns it a brown color.

Apparently dad left out some details.
From Mom:
Well, the excitement so far has been that Dad's Garmin on his bike isn't working and his batteries in his tail light went dead. We didn't have a screwdriver small enough to take off the battery cover so I had to drive ahead to a town, buy a screwdriver, then take off the cover only to discover that it took AAA batteries instead of the AA Dad had given me. So, back in the store for batteries (which I later learned Dad had plenty of in his briefcase...but I had tried to call him but he wouldn't answer). Anyway, I was backing out of the store and saw Dad riding by on his bike! It had taken me so long to get everything done that he had caught up with me! It was a good thing I saw him or he would have gone on by and I would have gone back the other way to try and find him! Tender mercies! Anyway, he now has a tail light and I'll just stay here for another half hour and go find him. It is a beautiful day and in spite of few little problems here and there, we are doing great! It is 55 degrees right now...only supposed to get up to a high of 66. Beautiful day for riding!

While these stories don't sound like they're coming from even the same universe, mom did come back in later to comment on the root beer falls, which quelled my minor worries that mom had picked up dad's doppelganger on the road instead of my actual dad. They're still together, though their corroboration may need some work in case they decide to become roadside bandits.
We've reached the tail end of this day, and this post, but I'll just leave this beautiful view from our Michinanigan neighbors here for you to enjoy. Truly magestic.
