Clearly we're getting bored of being in the car and driving through corn fields, because we weren't graced with any photos of the excitement Mom and Dad saw today. Maybe just taking pictures of wind-blown barns isn't interesting enough to stop for, after spending two days straight in the car just to get to the starting point. Or, maybe mom forgot to send them, in which case this paragraph won't make any sense tomorrow.

As it is, here we are. Exposition over, Inciting Incident approaching, and hopefully the Rising in the Rising Action is only metaphorical, for the sake of dad's knees and thighs.

Back we are, again, at Munising, which concludes our "Last time, on DadRides" bit and we can start the finale. Somebody play "Carry On, My Wayward Son." The peace, when he's done, is retirement. :)

From Dad:

Final leg of driving to reach our destination/starting point. Driving northeast from Iowa City to Dubuque, we saw a significant amount of wind damage. Corn fields were partly blown over. Many barns were missing a wall, or ⅔ of a roof. It looked like a tornado had recently passed through certain areas--or a very strong wind had blown over entire corn fields--but not everywhere--just in certain locations.

We enjoyed driving through the rolling hills of eastern Iowa and southern Wisconsin. But I was very glad I wasn’t riding my bike up and down those hills.

We arrived at our motel outside of Munising--Buckhorn Resort--after dark. Thankfully, they had sent very good directions so that we were able to drive directly to it, even though it is 3 miles off the main road out in the forest.

*googles how to not get blown over while on a bicycle*

See y'all on the road tomorrow!
