It's day 13. Last day of riding! 9:15 castoff time, the sun is shining, 62 degrees, and dad's waiting for the beat to drop. (Or maybe that's just me. )

This whole year, dad's passed through what seems like flatlands after the last few years of hammering out endless hills across the Rockies region. It's eerily flat in all of their pictures, with the exception of enough elevation to create some neat waterfalls, cliffs, and lighthouse spots. We shouldn't complain, it's a little easier on Dad's knees, heart, lungs, calves, ankles, thighs...
But this is it. The final stretch of 2019. After this, they get to go "enjoy" the rest of the long drive home and do some sightseeing.

Ok, well, in honesty they do some of that along the way, too.

Because as they both love to say, there's "joy in the journey."
From Dad:
"Last day of riding for this trip. Got a good early start, along with a fast downhill run into Marquette. Picked up a bike path for about 5 miles along Lake Superior, then east toward Munising. Wind was strong, but mostly form the side, so it kept me cool on a warm, humid day. The finall 15 miles it became a strong headwind at times. The town just before Munising is Christmas. There is a sign on a gas station in Munising that says "Last Chance for gas before Christmas." Rode 57.25 miles today in 4:35. Total miles this trip: 627."
HE MADE IT!

And then, before they knew it, they hit Christmas.
Wait, did dad bike so fast he jumped FORWARD in time?!
Nope. Just a weird old town.

And to cap it all off, there was a Bigfoot sighting.

The next day, they stopped off at a few famous landmarks.

This helmet, worth $10,000, is the most expensive tacky halloween costume on the market.

Betcha dad's glad he's not riding in that rain.

And now they're on their way home!
Drive safe, Mom and Dad. We love, you, and WAY TO GO!
