From Dad:
"Today got off to a very inauspicious start. Instead of taking Highway 53 & 2 east, I jumped on 35 south. Small transposition. 3 1/2 miles out of the way before we got that straightened out. Then, I decided to dispense with the rain gear. Before I had gone 10 miles, I was soaked. I pulled into a rest area and took advantage of their xcelerator hand dryers. A few minutes later, after the rain had stopped, headed back out again. this time with rain gear (which I didn't need again) The winds were very favorable. 15 mph at my back most of the day. I started at lake level, in Superior, and ended at lake level in Ashland. Elevation gain was about 600 feet, gradual, rolling hills. At times I exceeded 30 mph. Because of the unsettled weather, we switched things up: I had Linda wait for 30 minutes while I rode ahead (in case it started raining) then catch up wih me. I was going as far as 15 miles before she caught up with me. I rode right up to the hotel, before Linda arrived. 67.5 miles in 6 hours, despite the errant start. So far this trip I have ridden 399 miles.
While riding today, I was passed by a tent trailer. The name on the back: Trailer Swift."
