2018 Final Note

Dad made some pretty major milestones this year, checking the widest state off his checklist, clocking a summary total of over 1500 miles traveled so far, and passing the national halfway point. Only one more state to cross before hitting the Great Lakes, which will require a more circuitous route, but should make for great scenery.
Despite unforeseen and incredibly challenging hurdles that faced them, Mom and Dad made it almost all the way through a stretch goal of covering all of North Dakota. Even after a day and a half worth of riding was lost to injury, Dad made up a lot of ground in a couple of days. Stopping only 65 miles from their intended destination, Dad biked appx. 360 miles from Frazer to Devil's Lake over nine days of riding. Finally, soreness and bad weather convinced them to leave off the last day and head for home. They're a 2.5 day drive away, now. Next year it might be smarter to take a plane...
Way to go, Dad! See you (hopefully) on the road again in 2019!
