"Broke camp and got started on the road early. It helps when you can ride right out of camp. Today was to be my biggest climbing day. Started out with some short hills, then level terrain following. Today’s goal was to get to McGregor Lake, elevation 4000’. Two steep hills on the pass to get up there, but they were both fairly short. When I reached the top, decided to go an extra 15 miles across the hills—rolling ups and downs, nothing too strenuous, then a steep 2 mile downhill. The goal is to do as little riding as possible on Saturday, so that we have plenty of time to go to the temple. Drove 25 miles to Columbia Falls and set up camp. We lucked out and got a spot next to a shady pine tree with a 20x15 cabana over a picnic table, with lights and electrical plugs. VERY nice! We’ll be staying at this campground 3 nights. 72 miles today."
